Board Member (Skills and Training)
Are you passionate about supporting freight, logistics, and supply chain journalism?
We’re looking for an individual with skills and training experience and a desire to shape the future of our industry to join our Committee as a Board Member of the Seahorse Freight Association.
📍 UK-based | Remote (with occasional London meetups)
📍 Voluntary | Monthly virtual Board meetings

The Seahorse Freight Association, a not-for-profit organisation championing career and networking opportunities for journalists in supply chain and transport, is looking for a new UK-based Board Member to join our dynamic team. This is a voluntary, non-executive role offering the chance to influence strategy, support industry events, and connect with leading professionals across the sector.
🔹 What you’ll do:
• Lead and support Seahorse Freight Association skills and training activities, with particular focus on developing our mentoring programme and partnership with BIFA and others
• Help issue direct email marketing campaigns on behalf of the organisation
• Help deliver events, awards, and networking opportunities
• Attend monthly virtual board meetings and occasional in-person sessions in London
• Join a Board Committee of experienced individuals who are passionate about supporting trade journalism
🔹 What we’re looking for:
• Proven skills in training, HR, personal development or related fields
• Experience/ interest in freight, logistics, or corporate communications, or relevant sectors
• Team player with can-do attitude
• Passion for advocacy, innovation, and collaboration

The Seahorse Freight Association, which was formed in 1962, brings companies in the supply chain, logistics, and transport industry together with the media who report on them and the Public Relations and marketing professionals who work in the sector.
Seahorse organises an annual awards competition to celebrate excellence in reporting, which is open to all journalists globally that write about the industry.
