Our mission

The Seahorse Freight Association is a not-for-profit organisation, which was founded in 1962 to bring companies in the supply chain, logistics, and transport industry together with the media who report on them and the Public Relations and marketing professionals who work in the sector.

We are committed to championing diversity in the industry and encouraging the next generation of writers.

We organise an annual Awards competition to celebrate excellence in reporting, which is open to all journalists globally that write about the industry.

What We Do

Awards

Seahorse-winners

Seahorse organises an annual Awards competition to celebrate excellence in reporting, which is open to all journalists globally that write about the industry. The Awards are handed out at the annual Seahorse Christmas party, traditionally held in London, UK.

Young Journalist Mentoring Scheme

mentoring

The Young Journalist Mentoring Scheme aims to offer young and aspiring journalists pastoral support to help them fulfil their career ambitions, or help them through a difficult patch or resolve a problem at work. It is free to take part in.

The scheme is a self-service scheme allowing mentees to enter and leave as they wish, providing some simple guidelines are followed. It gives the mentee complete control to choose the right mentor and the flexibility to make the mentoring experience work for the journalist. Our mentors are talented journalists and/or public relations (PR) professionals with a wealth of experience.

Networking

Networking

Seahorse brings together companies and PRs with the professionals who write about them at events where the focus is on building lasting working relationships in a trusted environment. Contact us to find out about hosting a Seahorse event.

Attendance at Our Events: Who Qualifies for Free Entry?

To ensure clarity and fairness, please review our criteria for attendance at Seahorse Freight Network events:

Journalists – Free Entry
To attend free of charge, you must be employed by or commissioned directly by a recognised news source. This includes staff journalists and freelance reporters writing for established, independent media outlets.

Non-Journalists – paying entrance fee
If you are a PR professional, marketer, content writer, or produce corporate content (e.g. client newsletters or in-house publications) – even on a freelance basis – you do not qualify for complimentary entry.
If you are paid by or through a client or commercial company, rather than by a media organisation, you will be required to purchase a ticket.
